Broad Street, as its name suggests, was plotted wider than the other streets in the area in anticipation of its use as a commercial corridor. However, today the street is mainly residential with a few corner grocery stores, restaurants, a barbershop and laundromat that serve the neighborhood.
Through a community design process and a community micro-grant program we are investing $30,000 in streetscape improvements that will serve not only to increase neighborhood pride, but to build community leadership, and capacity for lasting change.
