Crystal Vielula

Proposal – The Solace in Solidarity
I want to make a series of joyful, brightly colored paper collages to travel around the city on Muni. These collages will include images of people that represent the diverse communities of San Francisco. I would love my work to symbolize the melting pot that is San Francisco including all ages, races, genders, sexual orientations, and body types. Our city is unique in its radical tolerance, it is known as a place where anyone can find their people and be embraced. On public transit the majority of San Franciscans come together to not only share a ride, but also stories, music, smiles and connection. Muni physically and emotionally connects communities and I want my artwork to be a visual representation of that connection.
