Publications

The Cable

SFB publishes a quarterly newsletter, The Cable, which keeps members and other interested parties up-to-date on livability issues in San Francisco and SFB´s current activities.  Articles range from plans for the Waterfront Promenade to streetlighting issues to litter and graffiti removal. SFB grants and beautification awards are also covered. We invite members to submit unsolicited articles and other materials (i.e. cartoons) to be considered for publication. SFB maintains the right to edit submitted material.

Whether you want information about building a rooftop garden or finding your way to the many public stairway gardens found throughout the City, buy these books from San Francisco Beautiful — It's a great way to show your support!

In the Spring of 1997, SFB published, "Rooftop Garden - From Concept to Construction," a 44-page reference guide Topics include: evaluating your rooftop; code requirements; hiring a contractor; waterproofing; decking materials, planting, soil and containers; irrigation, lighting and wind; and a useful resource list.
