This summer we’ve been asking people what makes their San Francisco neighborhood special and how could it be improved. After more than 30 community meetings, and 200 responses, we’re getting a clearer picture.
We received a lot of great ideas from our Listening Tour survey, and have organized them into seven categories which are defined below. We then counted the total of how many suggestions in each area.
Stay tuned over the next couple of months as we roll out our ideas for addressing these issues. We invite you to participate by sharing your thoughts with us here .
Access (161) – better transit, safer pedestrian experience, better bike routes, more parking
Green (91) – more trees and landscaping
Clean (88) – less trash and human waste in our public spaces
Activation (54) – more positive events, programs, and opportunities to engage with our public spaces and one another
Housing (42) – better more affordable options
Identity (41) – more features that highlight the uniqueness of a specific neighborhood
