Excelsior is a neighborhood located in the southern part of San Francisco. It is included within the Excelsior district, which also encompasses Crocker Amazon, Outer Mission, Portola and Mission terrace. The Excelsior Homestead was filed at city hall on April 15, 1869. Source: Wikipedia

Fun Fact: Since 2002, the Excelsior district has celebrated “Jerry Day.” This day honors Jerry Garcia, a native of Excelsior and founder of the Grateful Dead. Source: Jerry Day
