San Francisco Beautiful supports the proposed project at 1481 Post Street. Converting this above ground parking into residential buildings will balance height limit increases. Along with community benefits including:
- $15-16 million for the City’s Inclusionary Affordable Housing Program.
- Streetscape improvements on Gough and Post Street.
- Design a safer street which allows for more eyes on the street.
- Pedestrian friendly street front.
We believe the height limit exception is justified in this circumstance, in light of the community benefits that the project gives to the neighborhood and the city. While we are sensitive to the impact this construction project may have on the neighbors, we believe in the long term, residents will benefit from the positive impacts of the project.
