In May of this year, San Francisco Beautiful applied for the Invest in Neighborhoods Economic Development Grant and received $34,000 to develop a plan for implementation of 2 large-scale and 3-5 small-scale streetscape beautification projects for the Broad/Randolph Commercial Corridor in the Ocean View Neighborhood.
From June 21 to August 5 San Francisco Beautiful hosted Community Brainstorm sessions at Ocean View Branch Library and Minnie & Lovie Ward Rec Center. Over the course of a few months, we were able to talk to hundreds of residents and gathered 231 beautification ideas in total.
Due to an over 50% Chinese population in the neighborhood, all outreach materials were translated into Chinese and we have guaranteed that at least one Chinese translator was present at each of those events.
